Jeanette Lee Larez, 81, passed away peacefully July 18, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born January 28, 1933 in Houlton, daughter of Edward and Mary (Scripture)Gifford.
Jeanette graduated from Bangor High School and worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller before opening her own Antique Shop in 1979. She was an accomplished and successful antique doll collector and restorer/dealer often designing and creating her own doll clothes. She loved cross stitching, tending her flower gardens, spoiling her cats and watching the birds and hummingbirds outside her front window, but her greatest joy was her family and friends. She loved family gatherings and spending time with family and friends whether it was home for a BBQ, on the beach at Jonesport, or on their 35 foot Chris Craft, The Queen Hussey.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Rudy Larez; daughter, Cheri (Tyler) Elkins White; grandchildren, Stephen Elkins and Heather Elkins; sister, Linda Hansen; niece, Debbie Cyr; great nephew, Jacob Cyr.
She was predeceased by her Aunt Marion; son-in-law, Robert White and “friend” Steve Tyler, as well as many more aunts, uncles and friends she held close to her heart.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday July 22, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10 A.M. until time of service Tuesday. Interment will be in the City section of Mt. Hope Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Bangor Humane Society 693 Mt. Hope Av. Bangor, 04401.
