Obituary for Jessie Gordon Baig (Gordon)

BANGOR AND CALAIS – Mrs. Jessie G. Baig, died July 25, 2014, at a local retirement home. She was born in Calais, and lived there for more than 98 years before relocating to the Bangor area. She was a graduate of Calais Academy and Miss Crabb’s Business College of St. Stephens, New Brunswick.
Mrs. Baig was an employee of the Merrill Trust Company in Calais for several years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Calais Hospital Auxiliary, Mayflower of Rebecca Lodge, St. Croix Country Club, St. Croix Business and Professional Woman’s Club, and the Sunshine Club of Bangor.
A widow since 2009, she is survived by several cousins.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Beth Israel Cemetery, Severance St., Bangor. Those who wish to remember Jessie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to a charity of their choice. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
