Lucille “Lucy” Elizabeth (Kelley) Dexter, 84 died September 25, 2014 at Ross Manner. She was born July 30, 1930 in Eddington, daughter of Howard G. and Stella M. (Kerr) Kelley.
Lucille retired from Bangor Mental Health Institute after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of the Maine State Employees Association. After she retired she enjoyed working as a volunteer in the Boutique and The Christmas Room at BMHI. She looked forward to the luncheons she would attend with other retirees
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert of fifty-three years, a sister, Marie Hadley and her husband Harold, a brother, George Kelley.
Surviving are one daughter, Jan Vickery and her husband, Russ of Brewer, three sons, Tim Dexter and his wife Trisha of Brewer, Scott Dexter and his wife, Sue of Daleville, AL., Rick Dexter of Eddington; seven grandchildren, Shawna and Ryan Dexter, Amy V. Largay, Chad Vickery, Traci Dexter and Ashley and Ricky Dexter; six great grandchildren, Mikayla and Brooklyn Dexter, Olivia and Alayna Largay, Brianna Dexter, Todd John Gaglia; one sister, Charlene Bowden and her husband, Richard of Eddington; many nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Anna Pistone.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday September 30, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St. Brewer. Burial will be private. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith, Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., following the service. Those who wish to remember Lucille in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, NY, NY, 10018.
