Obituary for Patricia Ann Augustus

Patricia "Patsy" A. Augustus, 80, passed away peacefully in her husband arms October 23, 2014, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born January 5, 1934, in Brewer the daughter of James and Helinor (Jordan) Gallagher.

Patsy attended John Bapst High School. In her younger days she loved to dance and did a lot of tap dancing and ballet. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. For 28 years Patsy enjoyed being in the military with her husband, meeting new friends, discovering new places, and redecorating their home. She worked for Davenport Plumbing and for the City of Bangor, as a clerk. She will be remembered for her baking of delicious chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter fudge, and her especially wonderful fruit cakes she made for her family and friends. Her family was her life, and was very special to her children and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Augustus, of Brewer; sons, Michael Augustus and wife Sue of Gouldsboro, NC, Douglas Augustus and wife Kathy of Lebanon, ME, John Augustus Jr. and wife Tammy of Dover, DE; a daughter, Karen Libersky and husband Dean of Rochester, NH; a brother, James Gallagher of Barrington, NH; a sister, Carlene Clarke of Concord, NH; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Monday, Oct. 27, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 531 N. Main Street, Brewer, 11 AM, Tuesday, Oct. 28, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Following Committal Prayers relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Parish Hall.
