Obituary for Susan Frances Ashlock (Lucas)
Orono – Susan Frances Ashlock, 59, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 25, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. She was born August 22, 1955 in Bangor, the daughter of Walter F. and Pauline M. (Gallant) Lucas.
Susan graduated from Orono High School, and then went on to Husson College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She most recently worked at Acadia Hospital in Bangor. When Susan wasn’t working she spent her time enjoying photography and scrap booking. She was also well-known for her love of her three cats.
Susan is survived by sisters Jean Hoxie of Brewer and Bonnie Crabtree of Arvada Colorado; nieces Kim, Jaime, Deana, Holly, Denise, and Tammy; and nephews Mark, Jeff, Jason, Andrew, and Scott. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister Nancy Lucas, a brother Paul Lucas, and niece Dodie Hoxie.
A memorial service will be held Thursday October 30 at 7:30 P.M. at the Orono Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 72 Main St., Orono with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC officiating. Friends may visit with the family at 6:00 P.M. Thursday until time of the service. Committal services will be Friday, October 31 at 10:00AM at Riverside Cemetery in Orono. Those who wish to remember Susan in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate, Inc., 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.
