Obituary for Kevin Donald Goss

Kevin Donald Goss
Kevin D. Goss, 55, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, November 3, 2014 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 13, 1959, the son of Donald and Elaine (Joslyn) Goss.
Kevin graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1977. He became licensed as a propane technician while working for his father’s business, Don’s Campers. Kevin was skilled at working on campers and RV’s, and he was well-liked by many customers. Kevin spent many winters running his father’s business when his parents made their annual trip to Florida.
Kevin was a man of integrity and honor. He took pride in being a hard-worker, loving husband to his wife, Cindy, and strong supporter of his family. As a father, he loved spending time in the woods taking his children camping and hiking, and teaching them many skills for surviving in the outdoors. He rarely missed a Patriots game, and would call his children to discuss each game afterward. He never turned down a Frisbee game with his son and daughter, even after a long day working on RV’s. Kevin spent many trips to Mount Desert Island with his family hiking the trails of Acadia National Park. There are very few trails that he had not explored. One of his favorite spots in Maine was Schoodic Point, where he would bring Cindy to sit and watch the waves crash on the rocks.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Cindy (Adams) Goss; parents, Donald and Elaine (Joslyn) Goss; son, Heath Goss and his wife, Celena Cipriaso of New York; daughter, Scotti Goss of Mass.; sisters, Shirlee Smith and her husband, Tim of Corea, Kim Lambert and her husband, Bruce of Holden, Kerri Bates and her husband, Larry of Holden, and Dale Bessey and her husband, Ted of Newport; special brother, Mark Goss and his significant other, Cheryl Sprague of Hudson; a dear cousin, Gary Goss of Mass.; his mother and father-in-law, George and Joyce-Hayden Adams of Dedham; sister-in-law, Diane Whitcomb and her husband, Bill of Bangor; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; as well as his close friends, Mark and Tina Ellis of Orrington and Tim Proulx of Holden, and many others.
The family wishes to thank the staff of New Hope Hospice for their care of Kevin during this time, as well as the doctors and nurses of the Lafayette Cancer Center for their guidance and support during his illness.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held 11 a.m., November 7, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
