Obituary for Anna Elizabeth Prescott (Kelley)

Anna E. Prescott, 90, died peacefully at her home in Brewer, November 22, 2014, after a short illness. Born in Brewer, on September 18, 1924, Anna was the youngest child of Joseph F. and Ellen (Donahue) Kelley and spent her childhood in Hampden,

She was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School, John Bapst High School, and Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture. She met her future husband, Fremont W. Prescott, while working at her family's restaurant, Kelley's Kitchen, in Hampden. They married in 1946 after Fremont returned from serving in WW II.
Anna devoted herself to her family, and as a young woman, was caregiver to her father-in-law, mother and in later years, her husband. She loved her children and 4 grandchildren, Brad, Kiana, William and Anne, as well as her 8 great-grandchildren, Mira, Kaia, Sadie, Chase, Kaila, Cody, Ashlyn and Hannah. Anna enjoyed interacting with people, and took a genuine interest in their lives.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband in 2001, her brother, J. Leo Kelley, sisters, Mary Otis and Kathryn Cousins, and two nephews. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Hai-Raphoon of AZ., her son and daughter-in-law, James and Terri Prescott of Orrington, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that you remember Anna in your own special way. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Fremont at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery, Augusta.

The family would like to thank the loving staff at Woodlands in Brewer and to Beacon Hospice for their help and support.
