Obituary for Margaret Ann Scripture

BANGOR – Margaret Ann Scripture, 68, died December 16, 2014 at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. She was born October 27, 1946 in Bangor, daughter of Donald A. and Jean L. (Goggins) Scripture.

Margaret was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1964 and attended a school of Business in Portland. She worked for many years as a clerk in several convenience stores in the Bangor area. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and watching the old T.V. shows on Channel 60.

Surviving in addition to her father, Donald A. Scripture are one sister, Debra Bragg and her husband, George; two nieces, Dawn and Melissa Bragg; two nephews, Shannon and Tyler Thomas; one great grandniece, Haleigh Wood, all of Bangor; two special friends, Norma and Linda. Margaret was predeceased by her mother, Jean (Goggins) Scripture in 2002.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor where funeral services will be held 11am Friday, December 19, 2014 with the Rev. Cannon Marguerite A.H. Steadman, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Bangor, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites those attending to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor following the interment Friday.
