Holden – Viola Pelletier (Cyr) Humphrey, 86, passed away at a local healthcare facility Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Viola was born in Connors, NB May 24, 1928 the daughter of Pius and Alphena (Nadeau) Pelletier.

Viola began her teaching career at the age of 18 and during her 30 years of teaching, she taught all grades. She married Paul Humphrey in 1975 and moved to Bangor, Maine. There, she assisted him in running his electrical contracting business. In her spare time, Viola loved doing crossword puzzles and word searches. She attended Mass every week and could be described as a very devout Catholic.

Viola is survived by 3 children, Gaston Cyr and spouse of El Paso, TX, Claudette Cyr and spouse of Laval, Quebec, and Michele Cyr and spouse of Fredericton, NB; 2 grandchildren, Nathalie Cyr of Oklahoma City, OK, and David Cyr of El Paso, TX; 2 great grandchildren Jenna and John Cyr; a brother Paul-Emile Pelletier of Nova Scotia; 3 sisters, Jacqueline Long of Clair, NB, Claudette Johnston of Pineville, LA, and Paulette Schwab of Sanford, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, Viola was predeceased by a sister, Evangeline Poirier.

Friends and relatives are invited to call 2-4PM, Sunday, January 18 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held at 2PM Monday, January 19.
