Beverly I. Ward, 85, wife of the late E. Dale Ward, died unexpectedly February 28, 2015. She was born in Dexter, October 14, 1929, daughter of Joseph E. and Cecilia M. (Goulette) Doyon.
She grew up in Dexter, and graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1948. Beverly met her husband, Dale while working for Fay & Scott in Dexter. They were married in 1951 and moved to Connecticut where they welcomed four of their five children. They returned to Maine after living in Connecticut for a few years, and welcomed their fifth baby and settled in Bangor.
Beverly attended Beal College and returned to the work force. She worked for the state until her retirement in 1990.
Family was the most important thing in her life, and she loved family gatherings.
She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her family.
Beverly was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, Dale, Beverly was predeceased by a sister, Loretta, two brothers, Clifford and Dana, and a son-in-law, Wayne Waskewicz.
Surviving are five children, Michael Ward and his wife Barbara of Prentiss, Jeffrey Ward and his wife Terri of Brewer, Jennifer Cormier and her husband Kenneth, of Bangor, Susan Ward and her fiancé, Eddie Roberts of Carmel, Cathy Waskewicz of Bangor; eleven grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Marianne, Benjiman, Joshua, Erin, Michael, Emily, Kristen, Hayley and Grace; nine great- grandchildren, Juniper, Selena, Sophia, James, Evan, Gavin, Hollis, Callum and soon to be born, Victoria. Two brothers, Hilary and Douglas; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday March 6, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 7, 2015 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St. Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor.
