Obituary for Evelyn Louise Violette (Copeland)

GLENBURN - Evelyn Louise (Copeland) Violette, 75, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

She was born in Bangor, July 31, 1939 a daughter of Guy Albion and Iva Kathleen (Yates) Copeland and raised on Copeland Hill in Holden.

She and her husband James C. Violette were married on August 16, 1958 and they eventually settled in Glenburn where they raised two wonderful daughters.

Evelyn was a devoted wife to her husband. The two were inseparable. She was a homemaker and together with Jim, enjoyed family gatherings, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, new cars and long drives around Maine. They attended the Hermon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Jim. Two daughters, Sylvia A. "Sue" Stevens and husband Randall of Albion and Dolores I. Farr and husband Kevin of Oxford. Four grandchildren, Rebecca D. Farr and fiance, Brent Jandreau of Portland, Matthew L. Stevens and wife Jacqui of Waterville, Joshua J. Farr of Brattleboro, Vt, and Lindsey E. Levasseur and husband Tyler of Winslow. Surviving siblings are: Lewis Copeland and wife Annette of Easton, Patricia Fournier and husband Allen of Holden, Thomas Copeland and wife Diane of Holden, Sharon Brigalli and husband Wally of Glenburn, and Brenda Beaton and husband John of Eddington. Many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, George Copeland and his wife Betty of Florida.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 Route 2, Hermon, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the church following the service. Interment will be private for the family on a later date.
