Obituary for James Edward Murphy

James Edward  Murphy
James E. Murphy, 63, passed away May 26, 2015 in Bangor. He was born in Bangor, January 19, 1952, son of Edward and Frances (Chambers) Murphy.
Jim was proud to be a US Army vet, having served his country in Vietnam. He worked for the University of Maine for 25 years before retiring. Jim was a Little League volunteer, and also enjoyed football and hunting. He loved spending time with his family. He will be missed greatly.
Jim was predeceased by his father, Edward Murphy, and his mother, Frances (Chambers) Murphy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janis (Simpson) Murphy; daughter, Heather Lincoln and her husband, Fred; son, Jamie Murphy of Maine; grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Emma, Kailey, Alivia, Tyrion and Daemon; his siblings, Pat Vincent of Bangor, Rose Thurston of Newport, Joe Murphy of Glenburn, Bonnie Painter of Elliot, Danny Murphy of Worcester, NH, and Skip Painter of Elliot; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the family home, 1067 Pushaw Road, Glenburn. Interment will be private for the family at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta. Those who wish to remember Jim in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Janis Murphy, 1067 Pushaw Road, Glenburn, ME 04401.
