Obituary for Lowell Theodore Sherwood

Another member of “The Greatest Generation” passed away on July 18, 2015. Lowell left his home and family in Old Town to fight for his country in the Pacific Theatre in World War II and returned home to raise a family and succeed as an entrepreneur and businessman in Old Town, Presque Isle and Bangor.
He retired in 1974 to enjoy life with his wife and their RV; traveling about the USA before settling in New Port Richey, FL for the winters; summers in Hampden. His final days were spent with his wife of 74 years at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Towle Sherwood; two sons, Lowell Sherwood, Jr. and wife, Mary of Hampden and Charles Sherwood and wife, Rebecca of Auburn; four grandchildren, Kathleen Sherwood Rumley, Benjamin Sherwood, Elizabeth Sherwood LeBlanc, and Jason Sherwood; and great-granddaughter, Olivia LeBlanc.
