Obituary for Robert David Royds
JACKSON – Robert D. “Bob” Royds Jr., 77, died September 24, 2015 at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. He was born July 22, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, son of Robert D. Royds Sr. and Isabella Elizabeth (Thackeray) Royds.
Bob was a retired Master Chief Radioman in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was an avid coin and gun collector and he also served as treasurer of the Great Farm Rifle Club.
Surviving are one son, Robert F. Royds and his wife, Jeannie of O-Fallon, MO; one daughter, Dawn M. Varnica of Long Island, NY; two grandchildren, Stephan R. Royds and Jacquelyn N. Royds; two brothers, Andrew C. Royds and his wife, Diana and William E. Royds; one nephew, David Royds and his wife, Sheila.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held 4 to 7pm, Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Jackson Community Center. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
