Obituary for Clifton Lee Upton

CLIFTON LEE UPTON, KENDUSKEAG – Clifton Lee Upton, 50, died unexpectedly at his home December 27, 2015 from complications of pneumonia. He was born in Kittery, Maine on August 11, 1965. For the past 2 ½ years Cliff fought a long courageous battle with lung cancer and was finally in remission when he was stricken with a severe strain of pneumonia which proved to be more than his frail body could endure.

Clifton was known by his close friends as “Cliff” or “Tippy” if you were really close. He enjoyed his family dearly and loved fishing, hiking and camping in the great outdoors, especially fishing and camping along the coast of Maine. In his younger years he was known to take his tent and park it in the middle of the forest just to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Mother Nature. His family meant everything to him and he would have done anything for them and his most important time was “family time”. Although he suffered through many struggles throughout his life he always managed to conquer and overcome each and every one of them. He will be sadly missed by everyone who ever knew and loved him.

Tippy was predeceased by his mother Nancy “Snodgrass” Upton and father Clifton Upton. Surviving in addition to his best friend and fiancé, Tracy Bradford, are children Chris, Brad and Briana, and grandchildren CJ, Jazmine, Lilly and Noah as well as his four legged buddy “Cooper”. He is also survived by his sister and BFF Jenny Kronholm and husband Herb of Searsport; Brother and BFF Scott Snodgrass of Searsport; Sister Gloria Yanni and husband Carroll of Topsham; Sister Tina Cooke of Connecticut; Special cousins Bruce Berg, Paula Brinkerhoff, Heather Lamb all of New Hampshire and Heidi Brinson of Arizona; Special nephew Jerod Kronholm of Searsport and niece Kristen Kronholm of Gardiner; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clifton’s only wishes were to make sure that his fiancé, who is also fighting cancer, would be taken care of financially. In lieu of flowers, any donations received will be used to support his family. Please send donations to his sister; Jenny Kronholm, P.O. Box 454, Searsport, Maine 04974.

At the families wishes a private service celebrating Clifton’s life will be held at a later date.
