Obituary for Nancy Ann Connick

Nancy Ann Connick
BREWER - Nancy Ann Connick, 85, returned into the arms of Jesus on February 10, 2016. Born September 3, 1930 in Massachusetts to Margaret and Royal Armstrong. Nancy is predeceased by two brothers Robert Armstrong and David Armstrong, and a special niece Susan Connick.
She met the love of her life, John Connick, when she was a young woman of 14 working as a soda jerk at Woolworth’s. Although it took a few askings, Nancy agreed to let him walk her home, and together they journeyed into a beautiful and long future of family and memories. She cashiered for years at Sampson’s and Doug’s Shop’n’Save, leaving a lasting memory of service that carried beyond years of her retirement. She was an avid lover of gardening, nature and spending summers camping in the North Maine Woods at Caucomgomoc Lake. She and John would bring their children and then their grandchildren “up to camp” for adventurous summers of authentic Maine experiences. The simple life of camping, fishing, board games and canoeing the still lakes of Maine will forever be ingrained in her family. You could delight her with a challenging jigsaw puzzle or a good Agatha Christie mystery. Upon knocking on her front door, she greeted you with a heartfelt embraced. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; feeding her birds, watching her great grandchildren play in the backyard and card games with her special friends. She made time for her family and reminded us all to slow down, make a memory and love one another. Her love was a gift, she made all she knew feel like family and to say she will be missed is truly understated- there will always be a small piece of us not fully whole because she is not here. We all rest peacefully in the knowledge that she’s in Jesus’s embrace and dancing in Heaven with John.
Nancy is survived by her brother Royal Armstrong and his family, her three daughters, Christine "Tina" Payne and her husband, Ralph, Roseann "Rosie" Davis and her husband, Steven, and Denise DeBeck and her husband, Garth. Her legacy continues with 8 grandchildren, Nathan, Eric, Mandy, Harrison, Arielle, Shane, Jennifer and Nicole; 14 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Logan, Morgan, Annissa, Sierra, Reice, Gabriel, Iesha, Autumn, Joseph, Travia, Kaydence, Zachary and Isaac; and three great-great-grandchildren, Sophia, Addison and Harley. Nancy is survived by a special sister-in-law, Marilyn Curtis and her daughters, Donna, Sharon and Teresa.
Special thanks to Paul and Greg, who have been kind and caring neighbors and friends.
