Bangor
Phyllis (Ramsey) Fowler, 88, died May 20, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Bangor, February 6, 1928, daughter of Charles L. and Vernis (Worcester) Ramsey.
She was a life-long member of Columbia St. Baptist Church and spent many years working alongside her husband at the Yankee Shoe Repair. Phyllis was a loving mother and nana.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Melvin “Red” Fowler; daughter, Gail Jean Fowler, and a brother, Melvin Ramsey.
Surviving are four children, Kathy Libby and her husband, Don; Edward Fowler, Diane Ehman and her husband, John; Susan Thibeault and her husband, Gregory; six grandchildren, Kellie, Toni, Amy, Matt, Sarah and Ashley; several great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter; a brother, Edmund Ramsey and a sister, Marilyn Fidler; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held noon, Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where relatives and friends are invited to call 11 am. until time of service. The family invites all, to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
Those wishing to remember her in a special way, may contribute in her memory to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, C/O EMHS Foundation, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME. 04402-0931.
