Obituary for Frank William Kuebel

Frank William Kuebel
Eddington – Frank died at home on July 8, 2016 after a long and courageous battle against Parkinson and cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Frank Kuebel and Emma Kunze. From age 2 he lived in Germany for 13 years. Upon his return to New York Frank lived in Forest Hills until he joined and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Frank was married to his first wife and widowed after 17 years. He attained degrees in education, philosophy, and theology, and taught for many years until he met Anne, was distracted, and moved to Maine where they were married. Of endless capabilities they built their home and thoroughly enjoyed family and friends of all ages. He was loved by all.

Frank prayed, wrote, and worked for world peace and the preservation of the planet. In his own words, he was “sui generis”, “one of a kind” larger than life and we loved him so.

Frank is survived by his wife of 35 years, Anne Perreault-Kuebel of Eddington and her loving family, and cousins, Carol Angelino of Staten Island, NY and Edward Burger of West Virginia.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Dr. Marian Benner, Dr. Cindy Milles, and Dr. Rao for their care and support; to all the care givers at Eastern Maine Home Health Care, Hospice of Maine, and Maine Veterans’ Home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor on Saturday July 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. followed by the Rite of Committal in the Columbarium at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, with military honors. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments following the services at St. Mary’s Church Hall. Those who wish to remember Frank in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Pax Christi of Bangor, c/o Mary Ellen Quinn, 91 Baker Rd., Winterport, ME 04496 or to a charity of your choice.
