Michael Austin, 73, passed away unexpectedly, August 7, 2016 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Gardiner, ME., May 29, 1943, son of Russell T. and Ruth Austin.
Mike served in the US Air Force and the MeANG. He was employed with Verizon Phone Company, retiring after 35 years of service.
Mike and Barbara were members of Lake Forest Church in Huntersville, N.C. and they spent the last 20 years traveling the globe and having a blast.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Barbara Clark Austin; a daughter, Vicki, step-daughters, Michele and Nicole Clark; grandchildren, Madeline and Charleston Clark; a brother, Mark Austin; a sister, Sharon; mother-in-law, JoAnn Goodwin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stephen and Joan Goodwin; many close friends, especially Tommy Hildreth and the Pinkham family.
He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Selma Austin.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Waugh Cemetery, Union St. Levant.
