Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Openshaw can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I should have posted something here years ago, sorry my friend.

I worked w/ Mike up in Maine in the early to mid 90's at Wal-Marts in Bangor and Ellsworth. Me, him, Ted Smith and others would wrap up night shift and land at one of our places to hang and chow down. Life gets in the way, as it so often does and we ended up going our own ways over time. It was so good to catch up w/ Mike on social media several years ago and find out he had gotten married, now having a beautiful wife and even more beautiful and amazing kids all in his corner.

He'll be missed. And to Lisa and his daughters, my heart goes out. Time never makes it easier, and the lump in your heart never really goes away. But you've got the best guardian angel ever looking down on you and I know you'll all make him proud :-)

Condolence: Lisa and family, please accept our sincerest sympathy on Mike's passing. We will remember his hard fought battle and dedication to cancer's cause every time we put up our Christmas lights here in Florida, and when we see others doing the same. Mike was such a true fighter. His spirit lives on and shines so so bright! Linda and John McCullen

Condolence: My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with all that loved Mike. He was an inspiration to me, and so many others who fight the fight every day. His inspiration has been far more reaching than perhaps he ever knew. His tenacious love for Lisa and his beautiful girls was evident to all who knew him. That love for his family and those whom he loved was his inspiration to fight his rare cancer and look for every way possible live his life to the fullest. He truly was Superman to all who knew and loved him. I pray that God will comfort Lisa, his daughters and all who loved him. May you fly on the wings of the angels Mike, and may your soul rest in eternal peace.
