Mary Bridget Hranyczka, 94, died September 23 at home with her loving family by her side after a short battle with congestive heart failure.
Mary was retired from EMMC. She was one of the original troop greeters at BIA, a foster grandparent, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was an avid Red Sox and Elvis Presley fan and loved her homeland of Ireland. Above all, she was a loving, caring woman not only to her family but to anyone lucky enough to have known her.
Mary is survived by her brother Lawrence McCluskey; sister Patricia Turner; son Fred Bryant; granddaughters Tere Bryant Gomez, Michelle Bryant, Jennifer Bryant, Valerie Bryant; great-grandchildren Mallory Pelkey, Jordan Bryant, Kayla Bryant, Sydnee Blouin; and great-great-grandchildren Gavin Hill and Adelynn McCormick. She was predeceased by her husband Steve; sons Michael Joseph and Michael Joseph; parents Joseph and Elizabeth (Dunn) McCluskey; sisters Jeannette Leavitt and Katherine Nolan; and brothers John, Robert, Louis, and Raymond McCluskey.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 PM, Wednesday, September 28 2016, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral mass will be held 10 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2016, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 786 Ohio St., Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
