Virginia Mae Mishio, entered rest in the arms of our Lord on October 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 24, 1927 in Bangor, daughter of George Owen Co-Wallis and Bessie Sadie (Parker) Co-Wallis.
She was raised on Broadway in Bangor and attended Bangor Schools. Virginia worked 25 years as a waitress at Oscar’s Restaurant on Washington St. in Bangor. She met and married Eugene George Mishio on May 19, 1946. They shared 47 years of marriage, before his passing away in the summer of 1993. She enjoyed working as a salesclerk for Smiley’s Clothing Store on Main St., Bangor for 25 years until they closed in June 1994. Virginia was a faithful, active member of the Essex St. Baptist Church for over 60 years, including serving as a Sunday school teacher.
Through the years, “Aunt Ginny” had the privilege of caring for and being a source of joy to many nieces and nephews. Attending many of their births. Her home and arms were always open to them and many special memories were created as a result of her loving heart.
She was predeceased by four siblings, Arthur, Evelyn, Gerald and Betty, and a special nephew Ronnie Blanchard.
Surviving are, a dear brother, Robert “Bob” Co-Wallis and his wife, Anna; very special nephews, Bob Carey and Gary Co-Wallis, and several other beloved nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, followed by a reception at 11:30 a.m. for relatives and friends, at Essex St. Baptist Church, Bangor.
