Gladys Louise  Knowles (Anderson)
Gladys L. Knowles, 86, passed peacefully October 6th at a Brewer healthcare facility, with her children by her side. She was born August 12, 1930, in Caribou, the daughter of Arthur and Hildegarde (Peterson) Anderson. Starting work at an early age, Gladys met Eleanor Roosevelt while working at Perry's Nuthouse when she was 15.

She became a homemaker, and later began working at GTE Sylvania where she retired after 25 years. In addition to her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Carl Knowles Jr., a brother Clifton, a sister Alice, and son in law Ralph Reynolds.

She is survived by her four children, Deanna and her husband Rodney, Debra, Craig and his wife Laurie, and Kent; four grandchildren, Kevin, Joseph, Kimberly and T.J.; Three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Bethany and Elizabeth; one brother, Hartley and his wife Sherrie of AZ.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct 14, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon Rd, Winterport.
