Richard William  Carver
Richard W. Carver; “Sarge” 82, died October 16, 2016 at a Bangor hospital. He was born August 11, 1934 in Portland the son of Cecil and Hazel (Kidder) Carver.

Richard graduated from Portland High School in 1955. He served in the United States Navy for four years and then joined the United States Army where serve for another 24 years. Following his retirement for the military, Richard worked at Auto Paint Supply in Hermon for 20 years. He was a member and officer of the Elks Lodge #244, Bangor for 13 years. Richard gave un-selfishly of himself to various local charities for many years.

Still love, still missed and very dear

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Carver, of Brewer; his sister, Eleanor Buckley of Eddington; special nephew, Thomas Buckley and wife Donna; stepson, Michael Welch and his fiancé Nancy Gilmour; stepdaughter, Jodi-Ann Brecht and her husband Timothy; two step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased seven siblings.

A memorial reception to celebrate Richards’ life will be held 12 -2 p.m. Saturday November 5, 2016 at the Bangor Elks Lodge, 108 Odlin Rd, Bangor, Maine 04401 where Military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Immediately following the Celebration, interment will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Memorial donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Elks National Foundation 2750 N. Lakeview Ave., Chicago, IL 60614-2256.
