Obituary for Allan Edward Quinn

Allan Edward  Quinn
GLENBURN - Allan E. Quinn, 85, passed away peacefully November 3, 2016, at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 8, 1931, in Glenburn, son of the late Frank and Alice (Stilphen) Quinn. Allan was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1949. He was a member and past master of Olive Branch Lodge # 124 AF & AM of Charleston, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, Anah Shrine Clown Unit, and Tri-County Shrine Club. Allan was also former member of the Volunteer Fire Dept. of Charleston, organizer of the first Boy Scout Unit and former Boy Scout Master of Charleston, former member of the Brewer Eagles Club, and member of the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War and CMI in the Seebee Reserves. Allan worked at the Charleston Air Force Base as a Civil Service Foreman for 29 years until it's closure in 1982, then transferred to Winter Harbor Naval Station in the U.S. Navy Security Group, and retired from FAA in Bangor in 1990. Allan is survived by his devoted wife Rosalie; son Dwain and companion Phyllis Read of Brewer; daughters Beverly and husband Wayne Black of Orrington, Donna Hathaway of Corinth, Rhonda Hendsbee of Glenburn and companion Pat Dauphinee of Kenduskeag; grandchildren Adam Quinn, Jennifer Quinn and fiancee Jeffrey Mayhew, Amy Gibney and fiancee Erik Warfield , Alan Gibney and wife Lori, Angie Gibney and companion Tim Lessner, Heather and husband Jason Schlipstein, Holly Hathaway, Ricky Hendsbee, Tim Hendsbee and wife Karen, Chris Hendsbee; seventeen great-grandchildren with two more on the way; sisters Sylvia Harper of Presque Isle, Sandra Noyes and companion Richard Coleman of Bangor; brothers Leonard of C.T., Lester of N.H., and Ronald Quinn and wife Carol of Shirley, as well as many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Mabel Didio, Rose Cole, Ann Clow, Ceila Goodell, as well as brothers Bernard and Dana Quinn, also son-in-law William Hathaway.
