Condolence From: Mark Armstrong
Condolence: I met Jerry and his wife Linda through a mutual friend (Val Kitchen)and gathered routinely for years in an intimate bible study group to read scripture and learn from each other through those scriptures of Gods' amazing Love for each of us. Through Jerry and Linda, I also learned about AA and how important it was in their lives. I attended several meetings with them on important anniversary dates. There, I learned from others who shared similar but unique stories of the devastating effect of Alcohol in an alcoholic's life but how belief in a God above could (figuratively) move mountains in that persons life when they learned to 'Let go and let God'. I heard from many people who stood to give specific testimony with regards to how Jerry quite literally 'saved their life' through his selfless love, support and mutual understanding that gave them the courage to take that 'first step' in recovering their lives back.
Jerry never bragged about any of this. He just just walked a humble path in Christ's light, reflecting it on others. Jerry I will miss you dearly and look forward to getting another one of your 'awesome' hugs when I see you again on the other side!

Condolence From: Ray Robinson
Condolence: Jerry and I became good friends during high school. Enjoyed a lot of good times with Jerry and his Mom & Dad, at their cottage at Hermon Pond and home at Silver Road.
Blanch and Cecil always made everyone feel welcome
Jerry always had a keen interest in politics and world affairs. He was proud to join the Army after high school.
He was always a very good friend. Helped me get jobs for our Rock & Roll garage band during high school.
We talked about those days two years ago at my Dad's funeral. We remembered times our band played at the Dover Foxcroft High School, Veazie Town Hall, and the Cedars bar in Dedham. We laughed about things that I had long forgotten, but Jerry still had vivid memories of. Jerry once composed a country song that he called "The Chain Saw Boogy." I stopped by Flagg Co less than 2 weeks ago and was told that Jerry had retired. Never got a chance to say good bye. My deepest sympathy to the family members and Jerry's many friends. He will surely be missed.

Condolence: Hello Linda and family. It was just 2 weeks ago at Farmers Market that he said he was going to have a procedure and would be gone for a few weeks. But not for life ! He was always such a warm hearted and smiling person whom I looked forward to coming every other week for years. Very saddened and have lost a dear friend. Someday I hope to find out what happened. He was in such good shape. Love to you all and we have lost a true gentleman.
