Obituary for Reginald Clifford Faulkingham

ORRINGTON – Reginald C. “Reg” Faulkingham, 82, passed away at his home in Orrington, surrounded by his family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born June 25, 1934, in Jonesport ME, the son of John R. and Margaret (Kelley) Faulkingham.

Reg graduated from Jonesport High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation, Reg enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and was stationed on the USCGC Snohomish. After honorable discharge from the Coast Guard he attended Eastern Maine Technical Institute in Portland, earning a degree in Radio and TV electronics. He married the love of his life, Sonja Skoglund, on October 27, 1956, and they settled in Orrington. Reg worked for IBM for 35 years as a Computer Systems Engineer. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying boating, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling, and motorcycling. Reg had many fond memories of his boyhood in Jonesport and spending the summers with his grandfather, Eddie Kelley, on Lakeman’s Harbor. He was a very competent man. Reg was his own carpenter, mechanic, plumber, mason, and electrician. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix.

Reg was predeceased by his parents. Surviving in addition to his wife Sonja, are his sons, Paul and wife Jackie of Fairhope, AL, Peter and wife Rebecca of Hebron, KY, Mark and Anne Tucker of Brownville and Trenton, Reginald J. and wife Rachel of Orrington; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Donna Madison of AZ; cousin Sam Kelley of Northwood, NH; special friend Carroll “Rink” Harlow; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held 12:30pm, Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill Road, Orrington, with Rev. Carl Schreiber, pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating.
