Bangor – Thomas Charles Somers, 65, passed away unexpectedly on December 4th 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor surrounded by family. He was born on August 23rd 1951 to Kelton “Bruce” Somers and Agnes (Wright) Somers of Caribou.

Tom was in the United States Army and a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Caribou with his father for over 5 years. In his late 20s he met a very special man, Clarence Dow. Clarence taught Tom all he needed to know about the cable industry where Thomas worked and retired at after over 30 years. Tom, or as some may have called him Tommy, Roscoe, Uncle, Pops, Old man or whatever crazy name he gave himself or others gave him, always knew how to light up a room with his jokes and laughter. Tom enjoyed New England sports, especially the Boston Red Sox; Tom loved the sport and played for many years with his nephew Victor.

Thomas is predeceased by his father Kelton Somers and mother Agnes Somers of Caribou; brother Ron Somers of Caribou; sisters Donna Somers and Tammy Englund, both of Caribou; brother Mike Somers of Massachusetts; and nephew Sean Somers of Brewer.

Thomas is survived by his wife of over 39 years Deborah (Coroniti) Somers of Bangor; their daughter Abigail (Somers) Forrest & husband Jared of Bangor; and special son Anthony Drake and fiancé Dee Emerson, both of Bangor; along with his unforgettable furbaby and grandfurbabies; sister Betty Moody and husband Dick of Connecticut and their children Richard, Jackie, Billy and Sandra all of Connecticut; sister Linda Gallagher and her daughters Crystal and Lili all of Brewer; sister Pat Skrable of Caribou and daughters Amy and Carrie; sister Tammy’s two daughters Kim and Sarah of Caribou; sister Donna’s daughter Liza of Auburn; very special mother-in-law Barbara Coroniti of Caribou; sister-in-law Mary Pike of Caribou and her three daughters; brother-in-law Marvin Coroniti and wife Jackie of Caribou their 2 children. Tom is also survived by many nieces and nephews that meant the world to him, many he considered to be his children – Lynn, Larry, Hannah, Sam and Michael of New York; Becki, Scott, Ben and Cera of Auburn; Sonia, Bryan, Josh and Caleb of California; Victor and Starla of Georgia; Melissa, Roger, Celia and Tyler of Caribou; Peter, Michelle, Matthew and Elizabeth of Idaho; Wendi, John, Justin and Zach of Oklahoma; Jani, Kenny, Jonathan, Jose, Erika, Olivia, Mason, RJ, Stephanie and Grace all of Connecticut; and Britney, Breanna and Jasmine; Tom’s special friends and family, Dave Getchell of Brewer, Tom and Gail Tighe of Massachusetts, and his very special traveling companions sister and brother-in-law Tom and June Eaves of New Hampshire.

Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday July 8th 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery in Caribou at 5pm followed by refreshments. For more information contact Abigail Forrest 207-991-2456.
