Obituary for Joel Keith Parker

NORTHEAST HARBOR – Joel Keith Parker, 56, passed away on December 17, 2016. He was born October 14, 1960, in Whittier, CA, the son of Albert and Edith (Michaud) Parker.

Joel graduated from Bell High School in Los Angeles, CA, Class of 1978. During high school, Joel was a member of the swim team. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, stationed on the U.S.S. Truxtun for four years. After the military, Joel spent time living in Indiana, before moving to Maine where he worked as a gifted finish carpenter, working all over MDI. Joel’s passion was music as a singer/songwriter, releasing his album “Heartblind” in 1985. He enjoyed playing guitar and sharing his music with others. Joel was a very kind a generous man who had a great sense of humor. But most especially, Joel was a loving father and grandfather.

Joel is predeceased by his parents. Surviving is a step-son, James Kerr Tweedie III of Brooklyn, NY, a daughter, Jennifer Parker of MDI, a grandson, Jacob Holyoke, siblings, Cheryl Parker, Daniel Parker, Frank Parker, Travis Parker, and Jeffrey Parker.
