Bangor – Elizabeth Marie Patchell, 64, died peacefully January 6, 2017, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 15, 1952, in Millinocket, the daughter of King E. and Sylvia A. (Grava) Bishop.

Betty grew up and attended school in East Millinocket, and graduated from Schenck High School. She went on to earn credentials as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and was employed at Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center for 28 years. Betty was a member of the Brewer Eagles Club for 30 years. She enjoyed traveling, especially throughout New England. She will lovingly be remembered as a strong-willed, hard-working woman who raised 5 amazing children as a single mom.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by a son, Bill; a brother James; and a sister, Deborah. She is survived by daughter Linda Roberts and her significant other, Troy Porter, and Linda’s sons, Daniel and Jonah; daughter Karen Patchell, her daughter Brianna, and Brianna’s son, Cameron; son Norman Patchell and wife Danielle, and their children, Colby and Grace; and son Timothy Patchell. Betty is also survived by a special friend, Stanton Tague.

A private graveside service will be held in the East Millinocket Cemetery in the spring. Those who wish to remember Betty in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the American Red Cross, 9008 Hammond St., Bangor, ME 04401.
