Obituary for Ciera Alexys Radel

Bangor – Ciera Alexys Radel, 19, born December 12, 1997 in Layton, Utah, was called home to her Lord and Savior on December 29, 2016 while visiting family in Florida during the holidays. Ciera graduated from Bangor High School in 2016 and was a freshman at the University of Maine, Presque Isle where she was planning to change her Major from education to social work to make an impact on children’s lives. She attended Hume New England Bible Camp and every summer enjoyed the teachings at River of Life Bible Camp and was a counselor there, summer of 2016.
Ciera had a very optimistic personality choosing to see the best in people and brought joy to everyone around her every day. She had a passion for life. Ciera wrote and published several online short stories. Ciera enjoyed making musically’s, role playing, fan fiction, theatre, drama club, show choir, and listening to music.
Ciera was a radio host at UMPI where she used her talent and love of life to inspire people to follow the Lord through Christian music. Ciera’s spunky and outgoing personality was clear to everyone she met. She was always the voice of encouragement, giving advice to anyone who sought it. Although her time on earth was short, her family and friends find peace knowing that Ciera is in heaven with her Savior Jesus Christ (John 10: 27-30). Ciera is a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and granddaughter.
Ciera is survived by her parents, Matthew Radel and his wife, Ada, of Belgrade, and Valarie Patterson and her husband, Ricky, of Port St. Lucie, FL; sister, Julia Radel and niece Rylee Radel of Bangor; step brother, Isaac Grover of CA; grandparents, Robert and Nancy Hasey of Hermon, Dolly Kelliher of Bangor, William and Brenda Radel of Waterville, and Lula Patterson of Limestone; great grandmothers, Helen Hasey of Bangor, Mabel Radel of PA, and Patricia McLaren of Costa Rica; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by family and numerous friends.
