Vincent “Jimmy” W. Dinardo, 86 of Hampden & Bangor, died on January 9, 2017 at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 3, 1930 in Berlin N.H., the son of Antonio and Thelma (Robinson) Dinardo. Jimmy grew up to become a professional boxer, and later went on to work for Brown Co. paper mill in Cascade, New Hampshire. He worked his way up from a shop steward, to become vice president of Local Union 75 before eventually becoming its president. He later became a representative for the UPIU and ended his career as a Regional Vice President. Jimmy loved and was loved by his family, his friends, and his horses. He loved playing cards, telling jokes, and the Boston Red Sox. Jimmy enjoyed a long life and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of fifty years Patricia (Daniels) Dinardo, a daughter Darlene D. McNeil, a daughter-in-law Shirley (Morgan) Dinardo, two brothers Anthony & Paul Dinardo, and his second wife Ella (Gomes) Dinardo. His spirit is carried on by three sons: Jimmie of Hampden ME, Warren & wife Marianne of Hampden ME and Florida, Antonio “Kemo” & wife Cheryl of Glenburn ME, and daughter Angela & husband Timothy McCluskey of Bangor ME, his nine grandchildren and their spouses, Amy & John Nye, Cynthia & Donnie Grover, Vincent Dinardo, Paula Dinardo, Jessica Dinardo, Jeb & Sandra McCluskey, Anthony and Becky Dinardo, Dominic & Stacy Dinardo, and Morgan & Zach Meehan, his twelve great grandchildren, sister Charlene Bergeron of NH, sisters-in-law: Carol Trainer & Judy Currier, several nieces & nephews, and a special friend Bette Brehm of Bangor ME.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
