HAMPDEN & TROY - Grace (Lenentine) Bagley, 96, died on January 14, 2017, of complications from pneumonia. All of her immediate family was present for her passage.

Grace was born on May 12, 1920 in Monticello, to Marguerite (Danforth) Lenentine and Guy Lester Lenentine. She attended Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton and went on to Husson Business School in Bangor, after which she worked in New Jersey and later in Maine. In 1942, she married Frederick J. Bagley of Troy. They spent many years running the family farm and rearing 4 children. During that time Grace was a member of many civic organizations including Seven Star Grange of Troy, the Order of the Eastern Star, the auxiliary of the Troy Fire Dept., Troy Extension Homemakers Group and Troy Union Church.

For 25 years during retirement Grace and Fred spent winters in St. Petersburg, FL., where Grace did volunteer hospital work and enjoyed the warm weather. Grace and Fred moved to Avalon village in Hampden in 2002 after which Grace attended Brewer United Methodist Church. Fred died in 2006 after 64 years of marriage.

Grace will be remembered by many for her positive outlook and warmth toward others as well as for her practicality and down-to-earth attitude. Her last years were lived independently and with enthusiasm.

Grace was predeceased by her husband Fred, her brother, Halston Lenentine and her sister, Helen Bernier. She is survived by her brother, Phil Lenentine and wife Mary of Concord, MA., her daughter, Judith Grace and husband Jeffrey Mabee of Belfast, 3 sons: Stan and wife Terry Burke of Gouldsboro, Rick and wife Karen of Hampden and Keith who now lives on the family farm in Troy, 5 grandchildren: Troy Fernald and wife Carolyn, Kate Fernald and partner Brad Bohn, Leah Clough, Ian Bagley and Monica Burke and 5 great grandchildren: Fox, Nell and Fisher Fernald and Alexis and Mady Clough, as well as many nieces and nephews. Grace treasured all of her family connections and enjoyed their visits and correspondence. She also had very special, loving caregivers, Wanda Golding, Stacy Grover and Sonja Parker.

The family wishes to thank the very dedicated and caring staff at the CCU at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor where Grace spent her final days.
