Clifton – Mary J. Bragg, 96, died peacefully on January 26, 2017, at her residence of the past 75 years. She was born March 16, 1920, in Mariaville, the daughter of Ralph M. and Mattie L. (Frost) Foster.

Mary graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1938. She married Robert J. Bragg, in 1940, and together they shared 43 years. Mary was a wonderful mother and homemaker and she overflowed with tremendous pride, joy, and love for her family. Mary was an active member of the Clifton United Baptist Church, and the Clifton Historical Society, and several other organizations. She was one of the founding members of the Clifton Library. She was well known for her baking, always keeping her cookie jar full and providing food for community functions.

Mary is predeceased by her husband, Robert; 10 siblings; and a son-in-law, David Kerns. Surviving are sons, Robert Bragg Jr. and wife Judy, Ronald Bragg and wife Beverly, Larry Bragg and wife Bonnie; a daughter, Shirley Kerns; grandchildren, Peggy Bell, Becky Smart, Ron Bragg Jr., Randy Bragg, Amy Brooks, Tom Read, Debbie Kelley, Kim Negoro, David Kerns Jr., Kristy Kerns; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Barbara Scott and Marlene Howard; a brother, Norman Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Clifton United Baptist Church, 742 Airline Rd, Clifton, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2 PM.
