Phyllis Viola  Shaw (Ginn)
BANGOR – Phyllis V. Shaw, 95, went peacefully home to be with her Savior on February 8, 2017 at Sunbury Village. She was born on July 19, 1921 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Hermon and Avis Ginn.

Phyllis attended school in Fort Fairfield and after caring for her family obtained her CNA, working for 15 years at Cary Medical Center. She was married to Milton “Blackie” Shaw for 46 years. Phyllis was a member of the Caribou Baptist Church, the Eastern Star of Mars Hill, and the Beulah Burgess Mission Circle in Caribou. She enjoyed bowling, cross country skiing and reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was predeceased by her sisters Faustina Clark and Janette Wardwell; and her brothers John and Charles Ginn. She is survived by her son Dale and his wife Carolyn of Corinth; her sister Norma Graves of Winter Haven, Florida; grandchildren Erin Shaw Nkurunziza of South Portland, Adam Shaw and his wife Cara of Wells; and three great grandchildren she thoroughly enjoyed, Lucas, Josie and Natalie. She loved several nieces and nephews that provided wonderful visits, phone calls and support throughout her life.

A memorial service celebrating Phyllis’ life will be held at Sunbury Village, 922 Ohio St., Bangor, on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Wayne Wallace officiating. Interment will be at the Kings Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill in the spring.
