Helen Irene  Dysart
Irene Dysart, 88, wife of the late David A. Dysart, died peacefully March 4, 2017 at her home. She was born August 26, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Isabella (Johnstone) Rule.

Irene graduated from Quincy, MA High School, class of 1946 and moved to Bangor where she met the love of her life, David Dysart. Together they raised 3 children and went on to establish Dysart’s of Bangor, one of the most well-known and respected family businesses in the greater Bangor area. Irene was an avid quilter and known for her perfect quarter-inch stitch. Her children and grandchildren will continue to love the treasured gifts she gave with her quilts. She also enjoyed gardening, loved to read and had many travel adventures. She will be remembered as loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are three children, Ed Dysart and his wife, Mary Perry-Dysart, Mary Dysart Hartt and her husband, Mike and Tim Dysart and his wife, Christie; five grandchildren, Dale Hartt and his partner in adventure, Sarah Whitty, Rory Dysart and his wife, Megan, Jordan Dysart, Amanda Dysart and Emily Dysart; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Orion and their mother, Ashley, Abby and Katie. In addition to her parents and husband, David, Irene was predeceased by her sister, Isabelle. The family wishes to thank Angie Harley and Sally Alley for being her special friends as well as the staff at Sylvia Ross and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care.

A private graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends in a celebration of her life 3 to 5pm, Friday May 26, 2017 at Dysart’s Broadway, Bangor.
