Obituary for Irene Estabrook (Cunningham)

Bangor - Irene C. Estabrook, 99, died March 4, 2017 at a Bangor Health Care Facility. She was born February 12, 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Alexander and Lina (Monk) Cunningham.

Educated in Bangor, during WWII, Irene who was tiny but energetic, worked at Presque Isle Air Base as a riveter in airplanes as she could work in small spaces. Later, she worked as a grocery store manager, then as a sample distributor in stores. Irene loved selling Blair products.
She was a member of Bangor Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star, Tuscan Chapter #148 and the Columbia Street Baptist Church.

Well known for her great cooking, she especially enjoyed making baked goods and doughnuts which she stocked in a freezer, ready for friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband, Clyde L. Estabrook; daughter, Lina Honey Cottom; brothers, George, Irving, and Francis Cunningham.

She is survived by sisters, Ida Sites of Eddington, and Evangeline Cunningham of Bangor; brother, Louis Cunningham of Chesterfield, VA; four grandsons, David Cottom of Buffalo, N.Y, Thomas, Samuel, and Michael Marchetti all of Hamlin, N.Y; and several nieces and nephews.
