Condolence From: Brenda Arnold
Condolence: Dear Gene, Edith, Hilda, Gladys, grandchildren, Emily, Jennifer, Rebekah, Noah and Charlotte,

We are so saddened to hear of Fred's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It was a priviledge and an honor to call Fred our friend. We knew him closely for many years and as our kids grew up and jobs changed, we lost touch for many.

I was very happy when we connected through social media and once again we were reconnected, just like we had never disconnected.

Fred was a wonderful story teller. I remember in most recent times sitting and reading his posts on my page about what he went through in CA and the loss of his home to wildfires and the struggles afterwards. He was not worried so much for himself, but rather for all the other people, "so many" he would say, that lost their homes to the ravaging fires. He talked also of the loss of his job he liked so well at Home Depot. Fred talked about PTSD, homelessness and working with the Veterans, especially the homeless ones. Those that are forgotten.

Many of his stories broke my heart but just as many made my heart smile. Fred was truly a gift from God with a purpose and he worked tirelessly trying to help every cause he felt so strongly about.

The stories I felt that touched his heart the most were the stories of his years in the Navy as a proud Sailor. His stories were many and I enjoyed reading every one. He would thank me for reading them and responding back. Of course I would, because Fred was my friend and I am so glad I had the privilege to know this great man.

May he continue to watch over his family and all those he loves, only now it will be from Heaven. All I can say is Heaven is lucky to have an Angel like Fred Bridges and you, the family, can rest assured he will be your Guardian Angel until you meet again.

Fred, every heart you touched here on earth grieves your loss. We are all the better however, for knowing you. Rest our friend. Rest.
