Obituary for James W. Bull

James W. Bull
Eddington - James W. Bull, 95, died March 2, 2017 at a Bangor Hospital. He was born August 28, 1921, in Brewer, the son of Leroy and Edith (McSorley) Bull.

Following his graduation from Brewer High School, James served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from AB & JR Hodgkins in Bar Harbor. Jim was a family man. A kind soul, feisty and smart as a whip right up to the end. He was an avid outdoorsman. He knew all the fishing holes and was always ready to "wet a line". He didn't mind taking you to one of his favorites. But you would never be able to find it again as he would take you over every back road to get there. We will miss his compassion, his sense of humor, storytelling and his hugs.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Dunham) Bull; second wife, Evelyn (Hobbs) Bull; brother Leon Bull; his loving dog and dear hunting companion, Shasta.

James is survived by three nephews, Jim R. Bull and his wife, Rita, of Eddington, Bobby Bull of Brewer, and Arnold Bull of Florida; niece, Ruth Ashcraft and her husband, Andy, of California; special grand-nephew, Jim Bull Jr., and his wife, Jen, of Hermon; niece, Wanda (Bull) Libby and her husband, Lance, and other grand nieces and nephews and their children; Step-daughters, Peggy Hobbs and her husband, Leo Karczewski, of Washington, ME, Bev Wilson and her husband, John, of Hampden, Cathy Hobbs and her husband, Hugh Henley, of Delray Beach, FL, and Rebecca Hobbs of Portland; step grandchildren, Paul Wilson of Orono, Kim Wilson of Portland, and Wyoming Henley and Richard Henley of Delray Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Theresa Woznik of Eddington. He is also survived by a special family friend, Dottie (Ames) Robins of Bar Harbor who was like a daughter.

A private graveside service will be held later in the spring. Those wishing to remember James in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Brewer Conservation Club 570 N Main St, Brewer, ME 04412, Brewer, Maine 04412. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
