Obituary for Anne Isabel Flanagan (Heffernan)

Newburgh - Anne I (Heffernan) Flanagan, 89, passed away, May 29, 2017, Memorial Day, at the Woodlands Memory Care in Brewer. She was born and raised in Cambridge MA. March 22, 1928, the daughter of Robert F. and Mary (Bonner) Heffernan. Anne graduated from Cambridge High and Latin, in 1945. She also graduated from Chandler Secretarial School in 1946. Anne worked as a secretary at Prescott Company in Boston for many years, then joined the sales representative team at Macy's, Huntington, NY for 24 years. Her participation in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade annually was one event in which she treasured.What Anne loved most was following her beloved Red Sox and all of the other Boston Teams. She was an avid reader, loved doing cross word puzzles, adored all animals, but most of all loved her times spent at the Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, visiting the Alpaca community. Anne celebrated life to its fullest, she loved sharing her wonderful sense of humor and had the ability to make people laugh. She was a great story teller, sharing all her adventures throughout her life. Anne is survived by her children, L. Thomas Flanagan Jr. and his partner, Fred Sciallo of New Hope, PA., Mary Goodman and her husband , Greg of Winterport, Robert Flanagan of Huntington, NY.; Grandchildren, Tara Pereira, Matthew, Ryan and Max Goodman and Sophia Flanagan; two great grandchildren, Sofia Pereira, and Hunter LaPointe; Three loving nieces, Beth, Mimi, Erin and their families: Extended loving families, The Sullivan's, Cousin Betty Lee and Lee family and the Brown family, all from Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her son, Edward Flanagan, two brothers, Edward, WWII Veteran, and Robert Heffernan and his wife, Franny, and Cousin Jean Sullivan.
