Condolence From: BEVERLY REEVES
Condolence: on april 4, 2019, i learned that "sonny," had passed away. i was attending a country western performance at cony flatiron, augusta ME, when one of the members mentioned him fondly, and respectfully. he was my lynx driver almost every time for years, back and forth to beth israel, for my post liver transplant check ups. we spent hours and hours riding and sharing our experiences in life. he always spoke with a great great love about his wife. it was so wonderful to hear how much he loved her. together. i came back to my apartment in tears. i had come to love sonny bickford for who he was, an admirable compassionate gentle man. thank you sonny! i will often think of you with fondness,

Condolence From: Julie Green
Condolence: Not only could he really play that steel, he was a wonderful person to work with. He treated everyone with respect and let the small things roll off his back. The years that he and I worked together in one band or another hold wonderful memories for me.

My sincerest condolences to his family.

Condolence: The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame has lost another of our most loved members in Sonny Bickford. He was a member of the prestigious Induction Committee and the Board of Directors. He was a most important member and will be difficult to replace. One of the finest men and Country Music Performers who sang and play passionately the Steel Guitar. At age 79 but always presenting a much younger appearance to his fans, we are still in shock at his sudden passing. We wish the best for Susan and the family in the loss of this outstanding and caring husband and father. Prayers go out to his loving family. Rest in Peace Sonny and enjoy your music with the rest of God's Angels. Slim Andrews. Chairman of the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame, Induction Committee.

Sonny, it was an honor to have know you and be able to enjoy your gift. Rest in peace but shake it up wherever you may be! Condolences to your family and all who loved you. You will be missed.

Condolence From: Mark Relford
Condolence: My condolences to the family of Sonny. I worked with Sonny for many years at the Air Guard, dealing with personnel, deployments and manning, as well as keeping my own records straight. He had a distinctive chuckle from his belly when you got him laughing. I never had the pleasure of playing music with him, but he was an accomplished artist. You will be missed, Sonny. Salute.

Mark Relford, Lt Col, Maine Air Guard, Ret.
