Bangor – Carolyn A. (Thayer) Bonney, 86, died peacefully with her children by her side on August 19, 2017.
She was born July 17, 1931, in Hermon, the daughter of Nelson and Mona Thayer.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by four children, Lawrence, Ronald, Richard, and Sharon; nine brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Drake and her husband Sonny, Barry Elston and his life partner, June Mclain, Kathy Pinkham and her husband Ed, and Scott Bonney and his wife Laurie; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, whom she adored; three sisters; several nieces, nephews, and a special friend and roommate, Marie “Gayle” – “Nora”.

A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 US-2, Hermon, Maine 04401 with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor, officiating. Committal services will be held immediately following at the South Levant Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Scott and Laurie’s house after the interment. Those wishing to remember Carolyn is a special way may make gifts in her memory to her daughter, Kathy, in support of an appreciation gift for the Engel Unit staff at Ross Manor.
