The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Eugene Burgess can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Aunt Donna, Danny & Dale, I am so sorry for your loss. As you know Uncle Gene was one of my favorite persons. He was with me on my first fishing trip when I was five. He carried me on his shoulders over the brook that was on the trail en-route to West Chairback, one of many trips we took there. He was the person that hunted rabbits, raccoons and bobcats with dogs. He got us interested in that and helped my Dad & I pick out our beagles and coon dog(s). Many evenings were spent in the fall chasing raccoons as well as many cold days in the winter treeing bobcats. My first deer that I harvested, Uncle Gene was there at Shirley. Later on when they built the camp at Shirley, he always was there when i came home to hunt with him, Earle & Dad. After Dad passed, he Earle & I went to Canada to Manicoughian to fish for a week. We had a great time even if we all fell asleep and the boat ran in to the shore!! Linda & I really enjoyed our visits with both of you when we were home. I have always felt that he, along with Earle & my Dad were the three most important men in my life. I loved him and will miss him dearly.
