Obituary for Michael Earl Nadeau

Michael Earl Nadeau
Old Town – Michael Earl Nadeau, 73, died peacefully, October 23, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1944 in Pinehurst N.C, the son of Leon Norbert and Dorothy (Hardy) Nadeau.

Mike graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1963. Following graduation, he went to work for Allied Glass, and then Portland Glass. Soon after Mike started his own window business known as “Mike’s Window Replacement” which he ran for 38 years. Never one for being afraid of hard work, Mike was also employed by the Old Town School Department for 33 years, retiring in 2014.

Mike was a long time member of the Old Town Elks Lodge #1287. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, having a good time, music and dancing, but most of all, Mike loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Chris Nadeau. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gloria (Bradley) Nadeau and their only child, his daughter, Nicole Nadeau. They always had a special bond. He thought the world of her and was so very proud of the woman she became; two granddaughters, whom he loved and cherished deeply and were the apple of his eye, Alexis and Kayleigh Wagner; one brother, Peter Nadeau and his wife, Marjorie of Otis; two sisters, Taren O’Halloran of Eddington, and Debbie Ahearn and her husband, David of Otis; brother-in-law, William Bradley IV and his wife, Margo; sisters-in-law, Debra Rickert, Kathryn Nadeau and her husband, Allen, and Melissa Bradley and her companion, Bruce Philbrick; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Orono Commons for all of the love and care shown to Mike.

A memorial reception to celebrate Mike’s life will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday October 27, 2017 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor. A graveside service with the Rite of Committal will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 28, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Route 2, Old Town.
