Sue passed away October 27, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 5th, 1926, in Bangor, the youngest of five children born to the late James R. and Cecelia (Kenny) Welch. Sue graduated from Bangor High School in 1944. As secretary of her class, which held class reunions every five years, she always kept her friends in close touch.

She is survived by her husband of seventy three years, Galen L. Cole. She was a special mother to her five children; Ann M. Parke and her husband, George, Richard J. Cole and his wife, Jane, Garret E. Cole, Janet Cole Cross and her husband, Bill; and Galen Cole Jr. and his wife, Michelle. She was proud of her eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edgar K. Welch and Paul R. Welch; two sisters, Evelyn W. Beale and Barbara L. Wilson; and daughter-in-law, Marsha E. Cole.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-7 pm. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 11 am. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service. Burial will be in the family lot at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
