Obituary for Paul A. Phillips

Hampden – Paul A. Phillips, 53, died unexpectedly November 6, 2017 in Hampden. He was born April 11, 1964 in Toronto, Canada, the son of Ersel Norman and Alice Louise (Lane) Phillips.

Paul graduated from Downsview High School. Following graduation, he studied nursing at Humber College, all in Ontario. Paul traveled to Louisiana as a traveling nurse where he met and married his wife, Tobie Blanchard in 1994. They moved to the Bangor area in 1998 and settled in Hampden.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret (Phillips) Montgomery, and brother-in-law, Ken Montgomery. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Tobie Lane (Blanchard) Phillips, are his daughter, Sydnie Lane Phillips and his son, Brennan Paul Phillips, all of Hampden; his brothers, Norman Phillips and David Phillips, both of Toronto, Canada; and his niece, Melissa Montgomery.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Paul’s life 3-5:00pm Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Those who wish to remember Paul in a special may make donations in support of the family to the Paul Phillips Family Fund which has been set up at Acadia Federal Credit Union, 849 Stillwater Ave., Bangor, ME 04401, the EMMC branch at 417 State St., Suite 140 in Bangor, or the Brewer branch, 43 Whiting Hill Road, Brewer.
