George Wright “Red” Wallace, Owner of Trenton Flooring Furniture, formerly Bargain Barn, “I Thank My God for Every Great Remembrance of You.”
George was born December 19, 1931 and passed away, November 14, 2017.
George was a loving father, husband and loyal friend. He worked hard, provided for his family and met with success and had a wonderful life. He was a dignified gentleman.
Wright attended George W. Stearns High School and graduated the class of 1949. From there he enrolled in Burdette College School of Business. George “Wright” was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Mechanics Masonic Lodge A.F. and AM #88 in Orono, Maine and a member of Anah Temple in Bangor, Maine. He also attended Husson College where received a Degree in Business and got his MBA from the University of Maine. George performed for the Bangor Civic Chorus.
He was born to Donald Wallace and Helen ( Bigelow) Wallace . He is survived by his adoring wife, Cynthia H. Wallace, and preceded in death by his beloved first wife Ruth Wallace. Four children: Vicki (Wallace) Parker and husband, Joseph, Julia ( Wallace) Zocher , Pamela Wallace, Wright Wallace and his wife Kara; stepchildren, Venise Eldridge , Robert Eldridge and his wife, Julie and Alicia Modotti; brother, Roger A. Wallace and his wife, Gudrun .
George leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Charles W. and Donald E. Wallace.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 12- 1 pm. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm.
