MADAWASKA – Raynold P. Gagnon, 76, died November 21, 2017 at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 14, 1941 in Madawaska, son of Hampy and Annette (Michaud) Gagnon.

Ray was a graduate of Madawaska High School, served in the U.S. Navy and was a graduate of the University of Maine, Fort Kent. Ray began his career as a school teacher then was a local business man and worked his last years at Fraser Paper Co. He served on the local zoning board and was a member of several civic organizations.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife and two children, Rina Gagnon, Paul Gagnon and his wife, Tina, all of Bangor, and Lisa Gagnon of Arlington, VA; two grandchildren, Emily and Samuel, whom he loved to spoil and dote on; five brothers, Reginald, James, John, Robert, Daniel and their extended families. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Clifford.

A mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Thomas Catholic Church, Madawaska in the summer of 2018 with burial in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou at a date and time to be announced in the church bulletin. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
