Rita T.  Maxsimic
Brewer- Rita T. Maxsimic, 88, died Monday, December 4, 2017 at Westgate Center for Rehabilitation in Bangor. She was born March 7, 1929, in Madawaska, Maine, daughter of Fred and Delia (Talon) Bosse’. Rita graduated from Old Town High School in 1947. After graduation she began working in office Administration and did so until she retired. In 1949 she married Roman Maxsimic. A true love story that lasted 57 years until his passing. Rita had a terrific sense of humor that was enjoyed by everyone she met. She passed this gift on to her children and grandchildren, along with the lesson of not taking oneself too seriously. Rita was a dedicated and loving mother. She was a grandmother who loved and cared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply. Rita was also a loyal sister and sister in law, a loving aunt, and true friend. She was sadly predeceased by her husband Roman, a son Roman John, brother Alfred and sister Florence. Rita is survived by her children; daughter, Donna Lyford and husband Darrell of Bangor; son, David and wife, Cindy of Falmouth; daughter-in-law, Katherine Maxsimic of Portland; sister, Lorraine Dupuis and husband, Louis of Old Town; brothers-in-law, George and wife, Selda of Orrington; Edward and wife, Catherine of Holden; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Daigle and husband Warren of New York; Harriet Maxsimic of Bangor; six grandchildren, Chip, Aimee, Tessa, Kara, Mae, and Stephanie; two great grandchildren, Roman and Gabriel; several loving nephews, nieces and cousins. Rita's family wishes to thank the wonderful staff on the Penobscot Unit at Westgate, they showered Rita with love and adoration for the past two years. A memorial service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, December 16, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St, Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share in conversation and refreshments immediately following the service in the Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, will be at a later date.
