Obituary for Reginald Hoyt Williams

Reginald H. Williams Jr., 78, of Bangor, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 28, 2018 after a long, courageous battle with COPD and dementia. He was born April 16, 1939 in Brewer, Maine to Gladys M. (Grover) and Reginald H. Williams Sr.

Reggie was a graduate of Bangor High class of 1957. Following high school, he joined the Maine Air National Guard and served 33 years with the 101st Refueling Wing, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Aero club and served as union steward. Reggie was also a master electrician and built houses with his dad in the Bangor area.

Reggie loved to golf, fish, and hunt and he was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Maineiacs softball team and also subbed on the Bangor PD softball team with his son in-law. He was a very intelligent, caring, loving husband and father. He especially loved being a grandfather.

Reggie is survived by his wife, Aleta ”Dee Dee” of 52 years; daughter, Kimberley and husband, Robert Gould
of Bangor; son, Almon Stevens of Holden; grandchildren, Haley Gould, Almon Stevens III, Shawn Stevens ; many special nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Ervin Marston and Billy McHale. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Natalie Harton, sister Marjorie Waldron, and grandson Jeremy Stevens.

A gathering to remember Reggie will be held 5 to 7pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings- Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
